Populist legislation in America and Europe threatened to undermine how millions of small businesses market and sell their products and services. RXN reframed the debate on two continents and in state capitals using data, experts, and small business voices to communicate the collateral damage and economic impact on SMBs to policymakers.
Target: Federal Policy Leaders & Media
Challenge: Quantify the impact of proposed legislation (S.2992, AICOA) on SMBs that rely on digital platforms and tools to sell their products and goods.
Solution: Working with experts and economists, we developed several studies and an economic model that documented how the modern retail ecosystem supports and promotes small businesses and showed that the proposed legislation would cost small businesses more than $500 billion.
Result: The groundbreaking reports were translated into digestible headlines and briefing materials for media, RXN experts were featured in several op-eds, and report data and materials were amplified by small business advocates in Capitol Hill briefings, hearing testimony, and meetings with members of Congress.
